We've completed a recode of the advance turn script in order to optimize it for speed. You should notice a marked improvement in how quickly your turns advance now.

Please let us know if you encounter any bugs with your turns, or see anything unexpected.

We're also doing speed optimization across the entire site, so it should be speeding up in general over the next little while.

That’s right, you can now import our first player-made breed. This works as it normally would for all other imports.

With regards to health disorders and hidden life characteristics (like litter size and life span), these are essentially averages of all the parent breeds involved in the new breed. All other characteristics that are unspecified in the breed standard are random.

With custom imports, you can only specify the characteristics that are set in the breed standard. For example, since CWs don’t have anything specified for the Grey characteristic, there will not be any options to select from for it in the custom import form.

I'm so excited, overnight Dynasty hit 4000 registered players! Not too bad for a game that only opened its doors 5 months ago, on January 7th, 2015.

Just wanted to say welcome to all the newbies, and huge thank you to those of you who joined earlier and stuck around. :) You guys are easily the nicest community I've seen on a sim game to date - THANK YOU ALL!

Created by White Dragon #3055, the Curly Windhound is Dynasty's first In-Game breed.

Here is White Dragon's description of the breed:
"The Curly Windhound is a large athletic sighthound with a long curly coat that feels soft to the touch. This is a notably quiet breed, but very social, outgoing and willing to please. Bred to be an urban companion, this affectionate sighthound is a bomb proof dog with a calm demeanor that shows little anxiety in stressful everyday situations. Though it is a large dog it has little to no guarding instinct and rarely shows aggression, so don't count on this breed to protect you or your home. This breed comes in all colors."

The breed originator, Sasori, has been registered as the first Curly Windhound. Other dogs that fit the breed standard can now be registered as this breed as well. (Please let me know if there are issues with this!)

In-Game breeds are not currently importable, so for those of you who are interested in a puppy of this breed, please contact White Dragon directly.

Colour update is complete. :)

If you have dogs that are special to you whose colour broke, please comment their IDs (or, even better, links to their pages) on this post. I'll fix them manually.

Their offspring will have proper colours, so if you're worried about lines as opposed to individual dogs, don't worry, puppies will turn out fine. :)

If you notice any colour bugs, or any other issues, please let me know!

Tomorrow, we will be switching to a different system of imports. Starting tomorrow, you'll get 6 imports weekly (on Sundays) as opposed to 2 imports daily.

Hey guys,

We're starting to do the colour revamp. As a recap of last news post, we'll be removing the current Steel Grey colours, and adding a "Greying" prefix for G_ dogs, so you'll be able to see the actual colour of the dog.

Your current "Steel Grey" dogs' colour will break!! Their offspring will be fine though, as soon as we finish the update. If you have certain dogs that are near and dear to you, we will be able to fix them post-update manually, as long as you request that we do so.

We're also adding a new Silver gene, which works similar to Grey (progressively turns dogs lighter with age). It is incomplete dominant, so a VV dog will turn light silver, while a Vv dog will turn silver. A vv dog has no silver gene.

Also, Albino is coming to Dobermans. :)

You may want to avoid importing or completing dogs who may have the Grey gene, because their colours will be broken if you do so before we finish the update.

The update will take between a few hours and a day or two. I will write another news post once we finish.

A few updates for today:

A new disorder has been added to Cavalier King Charles Spaniels: Syringomyelia (SM). This is a painful disorder caused largely by the fact that the back of the brain is too large for the skull of the dog.

SM runs rampant in Cavaliers. Don't try to look for imports that are "normal" - although they do exist - most dogs will be affected. The extent of how affected they are is determined by an "X% Abnormal" value - if you breed Cavaliers for health, or are using them in your lines, focus on breeding this number down.

Any dog below 40% Abnormal will not have any symptoms. Dogs above that will exhibit a whole gamut of symptoms, up to Paralysis for the most severe cases. Symptoms may not surface for years, or may show up in puppies.

SM is thought to be recessive, so if you do happen to import a Normal dog, you may want to let other Cavalier breeders know. :)

In other news, next weekend (23rd/24th) I will be updating colours. Steel Grey is going away. Instead, dogs with the Grey gene will now have a "Greying" prefix to their normal colour - so you'll be able to tell what colour the dog is/was underneath the grey without going through the genetics. :) Grey will also now affect pheomelanin (red-based) dogs as well.

I'll also be adding Albino to Dobermans with a new C allele - ca. Albinism is carried - you will need a dog to be caca at Chinchilla to exhibit albinism. Genotypes like Cca will remain at their full colour - Red in this case. ca will not exhibit incomplete dominance like the other C alleles do.

We are getting another colour gene - Silver. Silver will be present only in poodles, and it works similar to Grey - the dog lightens with age. A dog can be both grey and silver.

These colour additions are unfortunately going to take some time - from a few hours, to the whole weekend. During this time, the game will remain running, but please note that the colour of your Steel Grey dogs will break, and any dogs born while I am updating will also have their colour broken (if and only if they are G_). These dogs will remain broken - but their offspring will show the correct new colour names. If you have certain dogs whose colours break, and they are important to you, I can fix them manually - but if you have 500 dogs, please spare me from fixing them all one by one. :D

I will update on the weekend when I begin and when I finish updating the colours. If you breed Grey dogs, you may want to avoid breeding during this period to avoid puppies with missing/broken colours.

Border Collies have arrived!

You can now import them. They come with one new health disorder - Trapped Neutrophil Syndrome. This is recessive disorder, fatal for puppies, so definitely something you want to test your Border Collies for to avoid breeding carriers together.

Please let me know if you see any inaccuracies with them so I can fix them. Otherwise, enjoy. :)

In other news, we are between programmers again, as Miki has unfortunately had to leave Dynasty.

As a heads up, I will be changing the rate at which you get new imports. It is not set in stone yet, but most likely it will be changed to a weekly refresh of 6 imports.

I am aware that there are some colour bugs that still live in the game. I'm working on them as well as that pesky bug with Congenital Deafness.
